An ecu is out of the question....500 isn't worth it on a 93. If I bump the timing will I feel a difference in low end? high? How much? Is 20BTC too far?

Do you have the FSM? There is more to adjusting the base ignition timing than turning the distributor. I believe you have to unplug the TPS and rev the engine about 3 times from 3k-4k to lock in base timing. Since stock is 15BTDC, I say try 17-19BTDC. For the SR20DE bumping the timing from stock 13-15BTDC to like 17-19BTDC nets around 3-6fwhp, but the SR20DE runs 15 BTDC on 87 octane. You should notice better throttle response with advanced timing.
