ok i put everything back together the right way the way it came off, i named and took pictures of everything. i have tried to get it running again and it will idle but will not rev over 2000 rpms. my buddy cory and i can not figure it out. and it's driving me crazy. i don't think it's the MAF because i just recently replaced it. i'm out of ideas and i'm just plain worn out. please someone help me it really sucks not having my car. thanks

1. Check the connections to the TPS
2. Make sure there is nothing binding the throttle cables... did you inadvertently flip the throttle and cruise control cables?
3. When you say it won't rev over 2k RPMS, does the accelerator pedal keep travelling with no change in the RPMs? or is the pedal being obstructed/binding?
4. Any CEL codes?

If it is not the MAF, it sounds like the TPS calibration is off...

I sort of had the same problem, my car wouldn't idle, blow black smoke and suck gas like a corvette. My mass airflow sensor had gotten some water on it and it I guess shorted the wires on it. I found a new one(not refurbished) on-line for about $120. Everywhere is the same. Put it one 6 months ago and been running strong ever since. Dealership wants $800 for the sensor alone plus labor. I put it on in 10 minutes.

Make sure all the plugs are plugged in. Make sure there are no hoses left unconnected. DO you hear any hissing when the car is on? Does it idle normally/smooth?

it would idle a little high and took it a while to idle back down after start up and then came back down to 800-900 rpms. i'll look a little closer today and i'm going to get another MAF to see if that might be it. i might need one now because i dropped it today moving crap. what a wonderful week it has been

sounds like your mass airflow... I had to start my car without it hooked up once and it would not rev past 2000 as well.

Will it go beyond 2000 rpms with it in park (or nuetral if stick)? I had a similar problem and the coupler to the TB was not on all the way and the rpms would not hardly move in Drive, but in Park it did just fine. Try taking off the intake and reinstalling.
