help, my car wont start.

heres the story,
drove to kfc and parked my car and then went inside to get something to eat.
after i finishing eating, i came back and i start the car normal, the first time i started the car, it started fine but 2 second later the car just die.
so i tried again, the second time i started the car the car die again.
the third time i started my car, all the car do now is crank.
what could be the problems?
i changed cam shaft sensors, no change.
the owner manual states, when the key is in the 3rd position"on" the security light should not stay a constant red.
as of now, that light is staying lit.
the book states if this happen, then my car immoblizer unit have malfunction. wtf does that mean?
i have a aftermarket viper alarm in there already though.
any help would be apperciated
thanks in advance

the security light im talkin about is the one immeditly left on the steering column

could it be my starter?

immobilizer, does just that immobilizes your car in event of theft. Its odd, I dont have a 99 with the immobilizer but I'm sure if the immobilizer was in effect the car wouldnt crank. Not sure but sound like the immobilizer could be the source.

as someone stated on another forum, ill check for the ecu and ill try to hit the starter agian

car will still crank if the immobilizer is activated. i believe the NVIS is a one wire sytem on this, and is very easy to bypass.

yes, as far as my understanding, the immobilizer will allow the car to turn over, but it wont ever fire (either by limiting gas or spark). i am surprised your car started and ran for 2 seconds or so first though...possible fuel pump failure or something simple like that you think?
