aftermarket horn q

Does anyone with an aftermarket horn (like hella supertone) have them mounted in a place where they can get wet? Because I have mostly seen people mount them right in the front pointing out from behind the grill, but in the warnings on the package for the horns, it says to not let them get wet.... any thoughts?

I have Hella and put one poiting forward and no problems in 4 years...

They are red and looked retarted when I installed them...I painted the one that pointed forward BLACK..and fixed that

i thin the red will look sweet. i ordered mine a while ago and got them shipped after I went to college, so i'll have to wait till break. but anyway, the stock one is mounted right up there in the front, so why would this be any worse?

maybe stock is in a different place on our cars...my stock horn is on passenger side facing the engine near one of the mounts. Anyway, I will mount mine soon, if the red looks bad I'll paint'em.

uhh, look for the other one. there should be two horns; that's how the harmonic tone is created. both at different Mhz.

You can disregard that warning in this case. Mine are fully exposed to the elements with no problems.

You can mount one in the stock location, over by the radator overflow bottle, with no problem...I have my blower in that spot so I moved it underneath the wheel well.

I have one up front and one in the wheel well

I wish that I had a blower that got in my way...that would be a great problem to have. poo.
I plan to mount them exactly like meanbean
meanbean: how did you do that exactly? the right is obvious, but the left? did you just rig up some small steel extender or what?

There should already be a existing hole on the left just like the right side. The Hella Supertone horns should come with the steel extenders you speak of so there is no need to rig anything up.

alright, so i finally took the Hella horns out of the box. how exactly did you guys install these? i'm confused what the small plug is for and what you had to ground. can anyone just explain how they installed their Hellas? the more detailed, the better as i'm pretty much a noob when it comes to wiring.
