Maxima Color Codes and Pictures

I already have a thread up in the General forum about this, but only 4th, 5th and 6th genners seem to be responding...

...I need the color codes as well as pictures for all the factory colors of 1st and 2nd generation Maximas. I'd really appreciate it Thanks guys!

...BTW, it's for my website. Check my homepage, the color chart is located on the FAQs page. The 4th, 5th, and 6th gens are done already so you have an idea of what I'm doing.

Ill have to look under my hood and see tomorrow. I believe the color codes should be on a plate on the drivers side near the Brake Master cylinder or for some manual near the clutch master cylinder on the fire wall.

www.paintscratch.com should have all the 2nd gen paint codes. I gave mine from underhood in your other thread 329 K.

Thanks Sarin, I was looking into that website and I am going to make that a sticky. It gives the correct codes for every one of them. I noticed the 87's had more two tones than in 88. Ive never seen the very last 1987 two tone though. That combo looks ugly though.

Where do I go on their site to see a list of colors? All I've managed to find out how to do is search based on either knowing the code or the name, but I can't find any LISTS...

I'm not sure where it's located on 2nd gens. Judging by the fact that you call it "champagne" though, it may be Champagne Pearl. According to paintscratch though, it was exclusive to 1988. But who knows, they've been known to have errors.

If so, the code would be 656.

Yes, that should be it. It should give out some info about the car and then it should say Color, trim... I believe.

Thanks to the help of Sarin and max88q, I've now added quite a few colors. I also started a seperate chart for two-tone cars. I'm REALLY going to need your help on the two-tone stuff, guys. I also STILL don't know how to search by car at paintscratch.com...only by code or paint name.

What I normally do there is select the year, and manufacture. Then I select the model and was able to find it that way through thier main page.

Bahh...I completely missed that on their main page. It's jumbled in with all the other stuff, I was looking at their menu on the left side of the page.

...seems I'm missing all the important details today

Alright, I think I have EVERY color up now. Some lack their actual name though, and only have generic names in them for now (as stated by paintscratch.com). So I need the proper names...and pics!

I'm pretty sure I got all the two-tones as well.

Yes that is your color code: 449 C. I wonder if C was the symbol for GXE and K was used for SE.

Ok for starters. The top color of my car is not champaigne. Nissan called it Bronze. So there is your first step.

It had to have been. I don't see it mentioned under any site that listed the paint codes, including paint scratch. They just list the number, no C or K.

I've notice that the color names back in the 80's seem to be really simplistic when compared to the 90's. I don't know the reason behind it, but it's pretty interesting.

Just Bronze. When I got into my accident and the right fender was replaced and painted even the shop said they thought it was weird that Nissan called the top color "Bronze."

Alright, I actually have all the papers for my car down to when my dads boss bought it. She bought it in Frankfurt, Germany in 1989 with only 1961 miles on it. Now, the shop who did my paint stated that Nissan called the upper color Bronze. Original paperwork shows that 2H4 is indeed Champaigne Beige and Super white. So, you may want to correct this on your site. My car has been to California too. Found old registration paperwork in some of the books in the glove compartment that as long as I have owned this car have I ever ventured to look at. My car was bought for $18,516.00 in April 19, 1989. This is pretty intense stuff. I wonder what else is there that I have not found.
