I bought my car about a month ago and I noticed recently that my fog lights were not lighting up. I checked the fuse and noticed that the 15amp fuse was blown so i replaced it. It worked for about an hour and then they went out again. So the next day i checked the fuse again and it was blown again. So this time i tried a 20 amp fuse and figure it should be fine after this. same thing again fuse blew out . Does anyone have any idea what it could be??

 

maybe a bad ground!!

 

High wattage bulb maybe?

 

you have a short somewhere.. take the fogs out and check the housing and check all the cables and connections

 

First of all do not use a higher amp fuse. This same exact thing happened to me just a few weeks ago. I had a bad connection on the wire coming from the relay box. I redid the connection and they lit up. Check all your connections and you should be fine.

okay, first off you have an excessive current draw, not a high resistance, so bad grounds, poor connections, low voltage, etc are out.

youre looking for wire chafing or damage or possibly a bulb (ive seen it happen).

do NOT put a higher current fuse in. unless burning your car to the ground interests you.

can you get it to blow consistantly? try disconnecting the bulbs and going for a drive and see if the fuse blows.
