Problem with O2 sensors after run in with tire tread
I was driving toward LSus campus to study 2 weeks ago. I was in the fsat lane whe the car in front of me sluddenly slowed down. I moved to the middle lane and found two blown tire treads in my lane. I couldn't avoid them since doing so would entail me swerving into my left or right lane hitting another car, so I ran over them. My stillen lip got ripped off and I had damage to my front left O2 sensor. I got an OEM replacement from oxygensensors.com and took it to a mechanic to install that aslong with my new compressor. I picked it up, and the CEL was still on. The code said both my front O2 sensors were bad! Now, I smell gas, not all the time, but when I park my car. The smell is increased with the AC blowing recirculated air. I had this gas smell prior to dropping my car off for repairs. Did I damage something else when I ran over the tire tread? I don't think just replacing the front two O2 sensors will fix my problem. My codes were 1001 and 9001.
1. Was the ECU reset after the O2 sensor was replaced? Try to reset the ECU and see if the codes reappear.
2. You might have damaged one of the fuel lines - check the connections - be sure to check both ends of the rubber inlet hose to the fuel filter.

Should I just buy replacement fuel lines just in case to speed up the process of fixing this problem? If so, is it something I can get at NAPA or Autozone?
