Dual air filter on intake

Just had a simple question for you intake experts out there. I went to the track last month and saw a corvette with dual air filters and started to wonder if it was possible on a max. Of course they would have to be in different places on the max. Would this yeild any kind of gain or would you lose power. I'm not planning on doing this anytime soon I was just wondering about this and thought I would ask. Oh and yes I know the stock airbox is the way to go blah blah blah. Thanks guys.

LS7>VQ30 I doubt the VQ needs that much filter, so I doubt there would be any gains at all.

VG has it on the TTZ...

RWD would play a factor, but on LSx > VQ.

do you think? Yes it is ...

hell, LT1/s have nearly the same configuration, but this isn't an F-body LS/LT forum now is it?

**edit**

The TTZ and that set-up are different in that the TTZ has 2 TBs ...

Since the maxima's motor is transversly mounted, it wouldnt work well since its desiged for the standard mounting

I was thinking more along the lines of splitting the intake pipe running one behind both front wheel wells.

The pipe for a supercharger is that length.

Yes, the pipe FOR THE SUPERCHARGER, forcing air down the pipe. A dual intake like that would be a total waste on a NA maxima, and would likely cause a loss of power, not a gain. Save your money for something useful.

only way i can see it working if its a hybrid/injen style intake meaning one branch of the intake goes downin front like an injen, and the other will go in the other direction like a frankencar mid pipe and filter, i dont see how it would help because wouldnt the engine just suck in the air from whatever the shortest route is? on that vette it looks like it makes sense cause both branches seem to be equal piping...just my oppinion tho
