Interest in Next Gear Thermoshield Intake Manifold Gaskets!

I am currently in contact with a company called NextGear. They are currently producing their new Thermoshield Gaskets for the VQ35 but I am in the process of guaging the intrest of our members in having these produced for the VQ30. Please respond via email to me if you are interested in this product, prices will be around 100$ for a set. Based on the interest they will produce these for us. Please contact me and vote on the pole if you are interested in this product. These gaskets will "prevent heat soak from occuring by insulating the intake against unwanted heat generated by the cylinder head and are a direct replacement part for your OEM intake manifold gasket"(Modified, Nov 2005)

I believe they also make these for headers but I am not sure, and will look into that as well. This looks like a great deal guys, lets get some support in new products to be developed for our car. I look forward to hearing from everyone.

Isn't our gaskets made from rubber anyway? That seems like a good isolater of heat. The 5th gen engine has metal gaskets, so I can see them wanting something like this. What are they made out of? Poly-U?

if you can get them made, by all means. More aftermarket support for our engine=Good.

Absolutely the best advertising line I've ever read for a gasket.
Best part is people will actually buy it.

Look you may have your doubts but people who are running boosted engines can have a lot of heat soak and the temps created will effect the engines reposiveness, and could possibly cause engine knock or other things like timing retarding. If you have any question please post them and I will forward those questions to the company making them and I will try to get some more information for you all.

1. The 4th gen thick rubber intake manifold gasket is already an excellent heat barrier. Anything else will only be marginally better.

2. The 5th gen intake is plastic with a low thermal conductivity and low heat capacity. No heat blocking gasket needed.

3. Probably a good thing for the VQ35 with their aluminum intake manifolds.

There was a thread about this two years ago, but they never went into production for the 3.0's because of what Tom and Stephen already mentioned...

well ok I understand what you all are saying and hey thats why there is a poll, the manufacture has the link to this poll and based on what you all have for input will depend on weather or not they make them, so if most people say no way then hey no worries, how ever for the vq35 guys you are right and they all ready have those produced.

If it helps NextGear at all here's the info where we investigated doing this before.

It may be possible to introduce some gains due to spacing and volumetric efficiencies aside from reducing heatsoak. Build it, dyno it, and hope it works.
