Noisy Heater fan

I have a 99 SE. In the summer, the climate control fan is nice and quiet. Now that its getting to be cold outside and the blower is blowing hot air, the heater is making two different noises. First, the fan squeaks. Its a high pitch annoying squeak, Im sure a bearing needs to be lubed or something, thats not the bad noise. When the heater is really pumping out the air, a high fan speed, sometimes the blower makes a loud buzzing noise that comes and goes. Its really loud and annoying.

Has anyone had this problem and if so, how'd you fix it???

Mine squeaks also. I haven't had time to fix it yet, so I'm just dealing with it. It is not that loud, but kind of annoying. Sorry that I don't have any tips on fixing the problem.

My '99 SE has also had a little clicking noise to it. Just enough to be irritating. If anybody has resolved this without great expenditure I would sure like to know the trick to it....

I think this may be a problem with the 1999 SE model. Mine was fine in the summer. However, now that the temp is around 55 degrees, I am getting a low huming noise from the right dash blower - just enough to irritate if the radio is not on.

My 99 i30 has the same clicking noise, i read somewhere that it was caused by leaves in the blower motor...i would guess taking it apart and cleaning the leaves out would fix it, havent tried it yet though.

Sigh, my 98SE did it since the high 20's. Took it to the dealer and they said that's normal, Nissan uses a cheesy blower and it has a plastic housing which is thin. They claimed if they replaced it the sound would be the same. Somehow I feel I should have insisted on a replacement, but who knows, that dealership did a lot of warranty work for me so maybe they were telling the truth.

I know the problem was adressed with infiniti and they built a thicker cover that reduces the noise and put out a tsb for it. If you could get hold of this cover i'm sure it would fit on the max too...
