Alternator Change
I looked at the Motorvate insructions already and I have a few questions.
Is it nessacary to remove the Fans ?? How much of a pain is it to change. ?? Is it better to take it out through the bottom of the motor or out the top ??
Id like to change this out over the weekend..it would be nice..
Anyone that has done it, please post your experiences

I just changed out mine on Wed... I followed his instructions, taking out the fan shroud was easy and I really did not pay attention as to whether or not it made a difference. It took mine out through the bottom, the biggest PIA was trying to get the bolts in the new one when I had it in position. It would have been easier with someone else to hold it in place. What I ended up doing was taking a screw driver and placing it in the top hole to hold the alternator in place while I fished in the lower mounting bolt... all in all a pretty easy job, but a little time consuming...
you don't need to really take out the fans, but it will really help if you do, because it'll get in the way. the hardest thing about installing the alternator is that long azz screw that you have to insert and tighten while there isn't much room for reach to get to it. if you got factory y-pipe, it's even harder because it's so bulky, it kinda blocked your way to put your socket on that screw. good luck doing all that stuff man.
