ordered blue aluminum cold air intake for Max 95...won't fit? help?

Hi. I looked at the "how to" section, but it shows only how to install an intake on a 5th gen Max. I got this intake: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/95-99...QQcmdZViewItem

The part looks identical except that the pipe is bent the other way so that it is supposedly compatible with the 95-99 Maxima's. Can someone please supply me with pictures? Thanks. My friend and I tried to do it, but there wasn't enough room, it seemed, with the bypass and sensor and all.

and you all know what it looks like under the hood.

It looks VERY similar to this Cattman CAI.

I am sure buying just the normal cold air intake would give the same results instead of cutting into your body

No, this is the only TRUE cold air intake for the Max.

Is there really a "true" cold air intake for the maxima? I can remember a post a long time ago from a guy who put thermal sensors in the engine bay and on the front bumper. At highway speed all of the sensors read the same air temp.

thats wrong, because the ambient temps of the true CAI were cooler than the injen or the short ram.

... how much more airflow can u get INSIDE ur fender wall than in ur semi-ventilated engine bay??? my injen works just fine, thanks! u can also buy a heat shield! or make one urself! cutting holes = waste of time IMO.

You guys are right about the true air intake. I bought a cheapy intake like that one damn it was a ***** cutting a hole into the body. I was like **** it im doing too much **** to it. So i just bought myself a injen. I also think it is a waste of time but, you have fun doing it.

...

Airflow hre isn't as important, as these engines are N/A, or at least the one in question.

It's more a matter of intake air temperature.

I'm sure your injen works just dandy

It's not hard at all to install. Just buy the drill attachment from home depot and drill a hole. The installation only took me about an hour. I also didn't have any directions.

keep it stock .... why do people put intakes on ... they slow you down .... the stock maxima intake creates the most power on the power curve

Wrong. The PR CAI pipe with the Stock midpipe results in the most power all around .

That is why I spent months looking for one of these after my 00vi swap

I can install the PR CAI in 35min or less. It does not take a long time to drill a hole

buncha stupids here obviously. I'll be drilling the hole in my fender this weekend with the stock airbox. Had it on my last set up with the 00VI, and plan to do it again.

Is the throttle response better with the stock midpipe on there?
