There is a "wheels and tires" forum that you can check but I'll help you out.

A. Clearance is highly dependent on the offset of the wheels. (+30-35 is a good range to look for).

B. 235/40/18 is the ideal size for an 18" wheel, but depending on clearance issues you may have to run a 225/40/18 to get them to fit in the rear.

Hope that helps.

might need some wheel spacers if you're running 235/40/18

It depends on the offset -- how close it is to the rear strut.

If you're talking about my car then thanks! I still got some work to do, though. Next paycheck i am replacing the lower control arms and tie rod ends. She's a little squirrelly right now.

No thanks... I have a wife to do that

I'm surprised you bothered with 18"s... with all those pot holes around, it's amazing you still have rims

you should stretch your tires like this:

with a good fitment, I bet it would look good on a max.

we should stretch our tires? why so we can drift our maxima? or so we can curb our wheels? that just doesnt seem to be a great idea on our cars.

im not sure if they will fit. they are 7.5 inches wide with a 45 offset...hmm not sure

I can't see how that DOESN'T rub. Look at that stupid camber. Nothing like idiot camber to take 2/3 of the tire's life.

Hmm I've run 18x8 with 30mm offsets with up to a 245. 245-225=20mm or 2 cm. divide that 1cm = 0.40"

Now you want to run a 45mm offset vs what I ran (30mm) 45-30=15 or 1.5cm = 0.60". so these wheels will tuck more by 0.60"

So the question is. Is there an extra 0.20"? So I'll say "yes". But that's only my educated guess on the matter.

Also a 225-45-18 is a few % bigger in dia vs stock. No biggie.

why not stretch your tires? I think they look good. Why would having stretch tires make our cars into a drift car. A lot of people in the volkswagen crowd have stretch tires, does that mean they drift also?

Installing tires onto wheels that are beyond the recommended width specification is unsafe and unwise. Not to mention stupid in general.

Although that pic doesn't look too bad.

Yea; there is a safety issue. Having stretch tires seems to be mainly aesthetic.

To be honest streaching the tire can look good on a car but is Very unpractical and of course a matter of opinion on how good it looks. I have a friend with 13" on a S10 with switches and his camber all messed up. He only drives it on the weekends but even with that little use his tires are shredding as fast as he can replace them. But to each there own.

Like MTrain I had 17 on it and when i turned all the way left it would rub. Put my stockers back on still does it. Of course my car is pretty low!
