I was able to scavenge a new driver's side-mirror glass for my '97 GLE. My current one is broken. Now I need to take out the old glass and install the new one.

Question: Can I remove the old one w/o having to take the whole housing apart?

The glass is attached to the housing via a series of clips but it's hard to remove it. I'm afraid I might break something if I just try to use force.

Can anyone give me some hints or advice?
