Not possible or just a waste of amps......

No W7 can handle anywhere close to 4kw, especially ported...

Maybe you meant to say 4kw total. One 1000/1 per 13W7, 4 13W7's.

I've heard three 13W7's (ported), on three 1000/1's, in an H2. I think it did 155db. LOUD. Ish like that justs hurts......
I know it's nothing compared to that setup, but I was messing with my Dad's car today and jeebus my right ear still doesn't feel the same

My ears are definitely used to alot of bass but it still hurts sometimes when I hear something really loud. It seems the dirtier the bass is, the more it hurts. Amazingly, my hearing is better than most people I know.

I might post pics of my new 3000wrms amp. Going to use it to for 2-12" arc flatline subs. Supposedly it's better than the W7.

4kw from 4 amps to 4 subs....

JL 1000/1=1kw
4 JL 1000/1's=4kw
4 JL 1000/1's powering 4 W7's
1 JL 1000/1 per JL W7

I'm sorry, but your lack of knowledge must be cleared up. With proper crossover set up, a sub in a ported inclosure can typically handle up to 6 times its rated power at the tuned port frequency. It is the lack of power handling below the tuned frequency of the box that yields danger. I have seen a kicker 8" solobaric, in a ported box, with 6000 watts of power break 158DB at a show in a ford Ranger pick up truck. When using this kind of power, the time that it can be run without overheating is limited, but it can, and has been done.

yeah but isn't that way over the thermal limit of the voice coils? with that much power going to them...i wouldn't be surprised if the vc's started to melt.

Yea its especially funny how a shop would something like that on TV. In the hopes of getting customers? After seeing how they treat peoples cars? That episode and a whole lot worse Ive seen. What a great way to promote a business. Although I can expect that with a Douche like Will running it.
