problem found. can i fix this myself?

i posted another thread about how my car's RPM all of a sudden would drop and choke on me. i think i found the problem today. so there is a plug that goes into the MAF sensor, there are three wires that connect to the plug. one of them is yellow, the yellow plastic wrapped around the wire inside has been slashed after being rubbed against the sensor itself. the wire inside is almost cut all the way as well. this means out of the 3 wires, 2 of them are connected and one is almost all the way slashed. how can i fix this? should i get another plug, cut my original wires in half and connect them to the new plug or wut? is this whats causing my car to choke?

darn, i need the car for tomorrow ! stupid little problems

2 wire screw caps cut the wire add some extra wire add a wire cap and connect the other side with a wire cap and wrap in black tape. I am unsure the name of the caps but they connect to wires together all I know. Seem to me that will work till you figure something out

i don't see why not. if you think it's the plug, not the maf itself, try changing the plug only but don't ghetto wrap it with just electrical tape.

well, right now the plug going into the maf has one of its wires slashed, so thats most likely the problem. im going to local junk yard to buy another plug.

HOpefully u got enough wire where u can strip it leavin some open wire get a butt connector (preferably the one with soder inside of it) and connect the 2 wires u cut and get a lighter and melt the connector till the soder melts...

ex:
M
A----[cut here to expose wire] {butt connector}---remainder of wire to ECU

just use a butt clamp...
you can get them from walmart. you crimp the wire ends into it.
