Car still lag after clutch!

sup guys,
my maxima lags when i try to get on it about half way down, at low RPM maybe 2,500-3,000 RPM. i can say it did it all gears from 2nd to 5th. it would lag hard and shakes then after that it would pick up. i replaced my clutch to a stage 1 exedy and after i broke it in the problem was still there.
i think it might be the fuel filter or the engine mounts. anybody had this problem before.
thanks

is there any way to be any more desriptive of what it sounds like its doing? a video would really be awsome in this case lol. Sounds like its either dying out from a lean or rich condition if its the actual engine making the noises and shaking or else somthing happened with the tranny that it doesnt like in gears. Idk Id say first off does it do it at all in first, if you have your hood open and stare at the engine is it smooth or can u see it jump a little? Theres just too many variables to narrow that down to one specific thing without knowing more details if at all possable. Also if its engine it sounds fuel related so why not just spend under $10 and get a new fuel filter put in there and see if that was the case ?

there is no sound coming from the engine i can tell u that, the engine looks like its running smooth when i have the hood open and it doesnt do it in 1st. it feels like the car is cutting off and then it catches its breath again around 3,500 rpm, and i can take it all the way to red line with no problem. i also get madddd wheel hop when i shifted into second gear.

Sounds like a MAF or coil pack problem.

Sounds like the MAF. Go to the junkyard and buy a MAF cheap, I only payed $10 for mine. (Also smuggled 6 coil packs, ks, boost sensor, and other goodies)

yea, but if the MAF was bad it wouldnt rev over 3k. my friend has an 03 altima and when his MAF went out on him it wouldnt go over 3k at all.

is it just me or does everyone just say check knock sensor a lot. You could get a scantool and record maf voltage or get a lab scope and draw a waveform. or you could check TPS voltage and waveform also.

The above only happens when it's completely dead.

If it's slowly going out of calibration, you'll have engine performance problems before the ECU even detects it.

Sounds like coilpacks to me. What makes you think it is something mechanical like the clutch or motor mounts. Neither of those would create the symptoms you are experiencing...

There is one brand of aftermarket coilpacks which have not yet been tested, so no one knows if they give gains or not. They cost something like $400-600 and as far as I know are only available from Japan. Just get regular coilpacks unless you want to guineapig something and have money to burn.

Yea, lag with this type of symptoms has nothing to do with mechanical. Most likely electrical.

Give him your best offer. If he accepts, let me know. I need a set too.
