anyone replace the slave cylinder latley?
Well I think my slave cylinder is bad cause it some free play when I move it by hand. Who gas done this? How hard is it and how long did it take? Thanks in advance
its pretty simple. you should break loose the banjo bolt before you remove the SC from the tranny. then just unbolt the SC and bolt the new one on. make sure you use new copper crush rings so the hose doesnt leak. then bleed the lines. thats really the hard part, since it can take some time. its a 2 person job for sure.
I did one last weekend by myself with a one man bleeder kit. Check the slave to junction box hose carefully because they have a habit of softening up and weeping with age. Its easy to replace both at the same time.
i am just taking a shot in the dark with this.....my clutch feels like crap. So i ordered a slave cylinder and hope this fixes the problem. if not the master cylinder is next. I just had my clutch replaced and this problem started with my old one so i know it is not the clutch.
also check the hose running to the slave. I know after I replaced my clutch this started to leak, and I think it is a common problem after you replace the clutch. Do you have fluid in the resivoir (the one in the passenger side corner)? Make sure you take the cap off to check because I thought I did but it was really just a stain from the fluid where it had sat at the same level for so long.
