Silverstars & Nighthawk HID lights, I give up

I first installed the Silverstars, cost me $50CDN and they were an improvement over halogen but both burnt out after one year. So now over a year later I figured to try the Nighthawks hoping to last longer. I installed two weeks ago and now one is toast. I see that the bulb exploded.

When i installed I thought maybe I could have touched so to be safe, I cleaned with rubbing alcohol.

I guess that light won't be under warranty, as it is not intact, and heavens knows it could appear I mishandled etc, so I guess no replacement.

But that's it, back to halogen. Any other lousy experiences?

Or get Sylvania Xtravisions. It's the best and brightest halogens.

i've got the nighthawk halogens and i'm pretty satisfied...no exploding bulbs here...maybe the one you had was defective to begin with...

That's why it's either HID or stock.

I've had a lot of luck with CoolBlues (2+yrs)...but they aren't the brightest.

I just got these for my "other car" the Accord. They are brighter as they claim on the package. The Maxima's lights are A-OK but when the time comes I will get the Xtravisions from the local wally world for about $18 a pair.

I think I'm gonna just wait and save up for HID's since I hear so many bad things about aftermarket bulbs, particularly Sylvania's.

Well I took back the imploding bulb to the Canadian Tire (Crappy tire) outlet and the parts guy said there is a two year warranty. Funny, didn't see that on the box, anyway returns didn't say anything and I got a replacement.

Maybe I'll be back in two weeks.
