!?Starter?!

I think im in need of a starter for my 5sp 96 maxima SE. I try to start it with my remote starter and it doesnt work. I try to do it with the key and it cranks 6 or 7 times before it starts. Also, when i start it in the really cold weather, i hear and grinding sound for about 1 or 2 seconds after the car starts. Sometimes the grinding occurs as soon as i insert the key and turn it. I need help in finding the right starter for my car. Will any "eBay" one do, or, is there a place where i can get the best one for a good price ?!?! Also, what is a good price for this item. Thanks for looking and helping me out !!

I had the same symptoms on my 95. I changed the starter and is all good now. Paid 145 at a local Auto Zone..took about 30 min.

I would never buy a part like that off ebay. Just run to Autozone and get one because you can get a Lifetime Warranty.

umm try charging the battery first.if that doesnt work then its your starter.

the reason why this happens is because when your starter fails to engage the engine is using battery power to crank the car over and over. and since its cranking over and over and not running the alternator is not turning which means the battery is not getting charged at all.
