you can remove it by hand really.. you can put in well over 200 ft/lb torque

just get a craftsman breaker bar, stick a 4-foot section of steel piping over it, and it WILL come free

I'd be surprised if any of those 3 would do it for a well-tightened locknut. I used to have a cheap 1/2"-drive electric impact wrench like that and it could barely remove the lugnuts (yet it claimed up to 230 ft/lbs torque)

On the other hand, my Central Pneumatic (air-powered) 625ft/lb impact wrench ripped off the axle locknuts in about... 3-4 seconds each

thanks Spirilis, that is what I want to know, guess cheap impact wrench won't do the job at all, might go to Sears get a decent one or Dewalt, if those not working at all then just return it. and like Irish said, man power do the job!!!

It's fairly easy. Stick a tie rod puller or long crow bar through the lug nuts and use the ground for the leverage. Find a long pipe to put leverage on the breaker bar, (I think mine was a junk 10 feet metal tube), get a good grip, and easily undue your axle nut.

Well not a scientific method but I judged by my own weight. I had to go to an alignment shop anyways, and they checked the torque on it, and I was good.

i used a 5' steel pipe as a breaker bar to take it off. i think when you are tightening it if you are off 10 ft/pd or so, it wont affect anything.
