Offered insane deal on new 06...what u guys think?
im seriously thinking about getting an 06 6speed, went to nissan just to see what kind of deal i can get...after an hour of negotiationg i was able to get them down to $23300 for a base 6spd. i think this is an awsome deal, im just not 100% sure this is what i really want and i really like my 2k, just to many stupid problems lately, leaks, squeeks, rattles, and soon to need cv boots (nasty job)... so i dont know what to do.
23k for an 06 is it new? If so that would be one hell of a deal.

That is where they start. If you don't care about options I would pick it up. That is well below invoice if it is new.

If you like the color and 6speed, you would have $6000 for mods

i love my car now and dont really want to commit to 5 yrs of payments, but its just such a damn good deal
If it sounds too good to be true…... According to Edmunds.com, and totally naked Maxima has a dealer cost of $26,116. By naked I mean absolutely no options, not even floor mats or splash guards. That car pretty much does not exist. Also according to Edmunds.com, Nissan is offering a $1,500 rebate. If you subtract $1,500 from $26,116, you get a dealer cost $24,616. That price represents the lowest possible dealer cost for any Maxima. You say they offered to you a Maxima for $23,300, or $1,313 less than dealer cost? It doesn’t make sense.
Was it a new car? Did you actually drive it? What was the sticker price? A lot of times, aggressive dealerships will lowball customers with the hope they return. Mathematically, this deal should not work. Don’t your hopes up. Be suspicious. I think they are playing with you.

i about a "base" 06 6sp in december. Paid $24900 including destination charge. i though that was a pretty good deal. I am guessing the dealer will add dest. charge ($600) to the 23300 and then add the options (floor mats, spoiler, splash gaurds). that will bring you up to about $24900.
The 6 sp is real hard to come bye. WHen i bought mine there was only 1 in the tristate area. So i had NO choice in color or dealer.

and the car is base, meaning is a basic se, only option is a 300 factory spoiler. so invoice is 25373 (supposed dealer cost but not really) plus 300 spoiler...256373 minus 1000 factory rebate were at 24673 so for 23300 is a good deal, i think it could even be a few hundred less! but im not sure i really want the car or like it enough, i mean its just so big, i sat in it and felt lost.
