Just got my wife a 2k2 SE Auto...
Got her a pearl white 2k2 SE Automatic last night. She got 59k on the odo. Paid 15,900 a little high but couldnt get him any lower since I made him give me almost payoff on the car we traded in.
Anywho finally got on it last night and I love that first gear pull........but whats up with the 1-2 shift being so lazy.....seems like the rpms drop a ton too. Wasnt sure if this was normal or maybe the car is lacking a flash update.

Congrats! That is exactly what I bought about 3 months ago. Fully loaded Glacier Pearl 02 SE with 59K. The 1-2 gear pull makes me smile. My favorite car I've owned so far. I bought from private party and got the guy down to 13.2K. So far I've found that I have oil in the #5 spark plug cylinder and I'm missing the short air ram that goes into the airbox. I'll replace all that stuff myself for a few hundred. The car was in great shape and had brand new Goodyear Eagle RS-A and all service records.

your wife now has a faster car than you...congrats. the 1-2 shift is goofy when the tranny isnt warm for some reason. rpm's shouldnt drop a lot, probly to about 4k. will drop more than ur 5spd for just that reason...1 more gear. good buy though, i love my 2k2 auto (minus the auto plus a 6spd would be better though)

true the 1-2 gear is awesome so much pull. but as soon as we get into 2nd it's just blahhh and then we hit about 5k and its back up. most of my friends know that my weakest point is 40mph which is about 4k bottom of 2nd. its so lazy down there. i drove a 6gen with a 5-speed auto and with that tranny it stayed right in the power band. damn i need a six-speed or spray.

There's a TSB for updating the TCM and/or the VB, depending on which one is at fault.
Ahh, you're not used to the
gearing of the A32/33 4AT .. It's horrible to say the least, but the torque of the 3.5L carries it as well as it could.Nissan definately should've stepped up to the plate and started offering the 5AT a year earlier.

or two years. then again my dads 5spd auto g35 sedan doesnt feel like it goes as quickly as my car. maybe once 3rd gear hits its a different story, but as long as you stay in the speed limit zone the 4spd auto isnt TOO bad, a 6spd would aways be better tho.
Back on Topic...
I just got my wife a maxima this week too. Had a third gen years ago and missed everything about it.
I found her a '03 SE with 110k on it for $3200.
Sound cheap?
It hit a deer.
One headlight is gone. Hood is toast. Radiator broke. Pass. airbag blew. And there's some small misc. straightening. But it runs good.
I should have the whole thing done for another $1000-$1500 bucks. Getting me in a late 5th gen for under $5 grand.
Ever really know God pitched ya a home-run?
