Any opinions on this ebay FPR?

Hey,
Shopping for an adjustable fuel pressure regulator w/guage for my project. Anybody have any thoughts on this one:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/FPR-U...36521421QQrdZ1

It's the cheapest I have seen, wonder if it's worth messing with. Anybody using one of these on their 3.5L swap?

I see other adjustable FPR's for sale on e-bay. Is this the only one that's worthwhile? And also, does it come with that gauge that's in the picture?

It does come with the gauge and never heard of any leakage
But i would really recommand you guys to get some "decent" fuel hoses instead of using the one the came with the kit.

Got the FPR yesterday. Everything looks okay, the hardware and guage feel kinda cheap but the regulator itself seems fine, should do it's job.

What's the best way to adjust this thing before I install it? I figured I could just run compressed air into the feed side and adjust to the proper pressure. I wouldn't need to do anything to the outlet side while doing this would I?

Thanks,
allen

Allen,

Can you test whether it holds a 1:1 ratio, since I've heard some don't...not sure about this one though.

they are all 1:1s. not a raising rate.

He knows they're supposed to be 1:1 obviously but he's wondering if it's less than 1:1 in actuality due to poor design and/or craftsmanship.

I'd be glad to test this thing in any way you need, just need some advice on how exactly to do that!

On an idling engine, you just use a brake bleeder or similar reversed and hooked to the vacuum port to apply positive pressure. Pump the bleeder to 10psi and if you know the base fuel pressure at WOT is 43psi, you should see 43+10=53psi of fuel pressure. If it's less, it's <1:1, if it's higher, it's >1:1.

Not sure how otherwise, but I'm sure someone here knows.

FYI, all you have to do to set the pressure before you install one of these is blow compressed air into the side port and watch the guage, mine came set at 40psi. So, as the air was blowing through it I adjusted the screw until it was at about 50psi then screwed the lock nut down tight.
