Something wierd happend to my car last nite

i was waiting at an intersection..when all of a sudden all of my lights come on (like when you put the key to the last setting b4 startin) and the car dies..i start it again and put it back into drive..and the minute i do that it dies again so i strt it a 3rd time and put it into 1st gear and she goes..put it in 2nd and she continues..pop into drive and it holds..but the drive is really jerky and sluggish for like 2 mins before it starts to drive almost normally....

WTF!!!????

Battery / oil / check engine light came on, and then it died?

Sounds like alternator to me.

Even though you CEL is always on I would still check the car for codes first.

Possible Engine Coolant temp sensor? Thats what happened to my car. Lights came on out of no where and the car died. I was able to start it back up and drive but here and there it would die. Replaced it and had no problems after that. Go to Autozone to get your codes checked for free. They are going to ask you what year your car is. I see you are a 95 owner, let them know you have an OBD2 connector for code readings in the car. They tried to give me a hassle until I showed them. They felt dumb then.

a friend actually called me and told me he had the same problem..for him it ended up being a loose wire from the MAF to the wiring harness..when it wiggled out of position his car would die in gear and run like crap..so im gonna check for that.
