Help I got the old timing chain tensioner out and got the new one in but now I'm having a very hard time to get the bolt to line up. I can't see anything because there is so little space. I just have to go by feel. also i have to lift the timing chain guide which has a lot of tension on it. so i have to lift the timing chain guide and try to turn the bolt so i can feel where the hole is that it goes in all with one hand. so far 2 days spent on trying to find that hole with no luck. How were u guys able to do it?

Did you make sure that they were the same size ?? I know for a fact that the New Nissan Timing chain tentioner is a different size. You may have the updated part #.

It should just line up and slide the bolt on. Took me about 5 to 10 min to get the bolts in and done. Hard part was getting the cover on, with sealant, and get the bolts in ok.

Check the size man

thanks matt yeah it's the same part not the updated one. what do you mean line up? the plunger to the **** of chain guide?

 

You need to have the plunger held in with a paper clip so that it can fit into where it needs to go. Once you have the bolts in nice and tight, you can pull the paper clip out to release the plunger against the chain guide.

As far as getting the bolts in. I had a problem getting the second bolt in, but the first one, just line it up with the Tensioner in your hand and the bolt in the hole, and bring it to the side of the motor at the same time. After the first one is it, just move it up and down till you find the threads for the second bolt.

**Dont worry about the washers falling into the timing cover. **they cant make it past the threads on the bolt**
