How do I reset my keyless entry?

I tried doing like (reset keyless 1995 site:forums.maxima.org) in google but it just linked to someone's sig.

I also wasn't able to find it in the FAQ, I know for a fact I have read it somewhere but I can't find it!!

Basically I put a new battery in my keyless entry and now it doesn't work, any ideas?

Thanks,
Josh

I'm not sure if it works in your car, but in mine, you have to get in the car and lock all the doors, and turn the key mroe than 6 times within 10 seconds...after that your hazards blink twice and the old codes are erased...then you press the lock button with the key on the ACC position on your new keyfob and they hazards should blink twice again....good luck, and hopefully it's the same as mine! Then if you need to add an additional one, you unlock the drivers door and lock it by hand...then you put the key to the ACC position and press the unlock button, and they'll both be programmed

Changing the battery shouldn't require reprogramming. I popped off the entire back plastic piece one time (everything including the circular cover), and my buttons stopped working because the rubber pad inside on the front was no longer perfectly aligned with the circuit board. If this is what you did, it's possible that you threw the alignment out of whack, and if this is the case, it's a real pain to get it lined up properly and working again. Anyway, here is the reprogramming info, taken directly from the HowTo's:
To program the remote(s) follow this procedure

1. Close and lock all doors with power door lock switch on driver's door.

2. Insert and remove the key from the ignition more than 6 times within 10 seconds. The hazard warning lamps (both turn signals) will then flash twice and the original codes will be cleared.

3. Turn ignition key to "ACC" position.

4. Push the "Lock" button on the new remote controller once. At this time, the car learns the new ID code. The hazard warning lamps (both turn signals) will then flash twice.

For additional remotes continue below else go to step 9

5. If you need to activate additional remote controllers, manually unlock the driver's door only then lock again with door lock ****.

6. Push lock button on the additional remote controller once.

7. Hazard warning lamps (both turn signals) will then flash twice and additional remote is programmed.

8. For additional remotes, go back to step 5.

9. Open driver's door to exit programming state when done.

NOTE: Only a maximum of 4 remotes can be programmed to any ONE car.

Get 15 posts and then you WILL be able to do something. Just don't post useless stuff to get to 15. Read the FAQs.

If the above instructions don't work it means that your remote won't initialize and you will have to source a new one. I just had to get one for my 98 SE for around $30 on ebay. Good luck!

Wassup guys, need help. Just came back from work and was reprogramming my remote and it has been working on and off lately. Locked doors, insert take out 6-times, light blink, i press lock nothing happens.
Now i open my door to go home and the alarm goes off, i try turning the ignition and a few other things to turn it off and it wouldnt turn the hell off. Had to disconnect the negative from the battery. How can i stop it? Will the alarm sound if i try to go to work tommorow?

FYI - on our 1999 Maxi, just had to insert/exit the key 3 times for the hazards to flash and all worked well.
