Manumatic??

Since when do maximas come with manumatic??? I hvae heard of it for a while, but have never seen or heard of a 4th gen maxima with manumatic. Can someone shed some light on the topic??

that's what i thought...guys i don't think it's too good for the tranny. Not meant to be shifted that way=might break

Not good but if your manualmaticing it, you can get to 80mph in 2nd.

its always been available it called....put in it 1 them pop the Shifer up at 6700 rpm..wait 5 seconds then it goes into 2......lather rinse repeat for 3rd gear...then push button for 4th OD

It has been done. I don't know much detail about it and can't search but I do know that some maxima guy made an almost plug-in-play kit that allows you to switch gears using your stock cruise control buttons on the steering wheel.

Push cancel to turn it on
Push set to shift down
Push resume to shift up
Push cancel to go back to stock mode

Something along the lines of that. Hopefully someone else would chime in with more info or a link.

no way of manuel shifting an auto is any good...put it in D and leave it there. Want a stick shift, put in a real one

I'm sure it's fine. Most automatic cars now are made with the option of the manumatic. It should be designed to be ok for the tranny.

If it comes tiptronic or something from the factory then go for it. Otherwise I don't think they were built for that. But if you plan on going 5spd any time soon anyway manual shift that auto till it breaks lol! see how long it takes.

This mod did not require you to move the shifter, you upshifted and downshifted with the cruise control buttons, it is very involved and I don't know what you need but it has been done.
