2002 SE Cluster in 2002 GLE

Hey guys, I know from doing some searching that the SE cluster will fit perfectly in a GLE, but is there anyway to get the odometer out of my cluster (GLE) and swap it with the SE's cluster....basically I want SE gauges in my GLE...also if anyone has pics of the SE cluster at night lit up that would be cool, please post. thanks!

Since they are both the same year, you can do the swap, depending on the extra features between both years, like TCS, etc. As far as the mileage, never swap out a cluster for less mileage than originally. Try to get as close as possible to original. Odometer fraud is big time illegal. The mileage is stored on a chip within the cluster. If you have access to a service manual for your year, you can verify the wiring. Again, since they are from the same year, I'm almost sure they are identical.

ok, is the chip that keeps track of the mileage just a little semi-easily removable chip or is it part of the whole big board or something?

not trying to do odometer fraud, just trying to get SE gauges in my GLE with the same mileage as I have now.

After you get the new cluster try taking it to your dealer they can probubly have it programed to match your milage and keep you out of trouble. I know they get programed if it were to fail and needed to be replaced, so it can probubly be reprogramed as well.

The cluster on my SE is pretty dim at night, and I think it looks pretty close to the GLE cluster in the dark, I don't have a digital camera yet or I would post a pic

just swap the cluster man. It would look good, another mod on the car. As long as you don't get involve in accident and cops will find out what you did to the cluster. Better get a SE cluster that has more milage than ur Gle cluster.
