Digital door keypad - how to reset?
Digital door keypad - how to reset?
Apparently there is a series of 7 unique digits (dubbed your "digital entry reset code") which is used to reset the digital touch pad on these cars, and in order to find out what this code is, you have to get your head under/behind the glovebox and locate the numbers with a torch (begins with the letter S followed by the numbers themselves).
Well i spent a good 15 mins out there yesterday proding and looking around with a torch, and couldnt for the life of me find this specific code.
Any advice / suggestions? I know the current normal code # to do things like unlock the trunk / open the sunroof and windows.. but the problem is... when i enter in this code, the doors should all unlock, and instead all i hear is a very faint <click> .... <click> twice in a row (some sort of disarming occurs?) ... i'm praying that by resetting the code with a new one, i'll then be able to start unlocking the doors from the touchpad again...
If the doors are unlocked already, and i press the "LCK" button, they lock just fine. I can also unlock the doors using the remote central locking on my keyring so no idea why entering the correct doorcode doesnt do it.
I obtained my information from this link : http://www.cardomain.com/ride/454290/7
Is it possible that on a newer (1994) model gen3 max that the digital touchpad control unit this guy speaks of is in a different location?

The "reset code" for my keyless entry pad was on a goldish colored box behind the glovebox (as in, remove the glovebox, and you should see it). The only clicking noise I hear using the keypad is when I'm putting down the windows and it's engaging the mechanism to do so, or if you use the lock/unlock switch on the inside you'll hear the two clicks as well.
I also have a question related to this, I have done the diagnostic procedures in my fsm (which passed) my keypads are not responding and I hear no beeping from the keypad, all of my fuses are good and I don't know what to do.... any help would be great !!
thanks
Troy.
