Break question

I noticed that i have to push the break pedal in quite a bit to get it to stop hard. but when i pump the breaks the push to brake delay gets shorter and shorter. could this be a hole in the vacum line? i have front disc rear drum with No ABS. any ideas?

- possible worn seals in the MC
- stuck caliper
- air in the lines

tell me why are you back after the great departure thread?

You should fix it if it's broken

If you are having troubles with your brakes, stopping hard just creates excess heat and wear. Check the pad life and flush the system.

at no time i called you a ricer. i only corrected you on the law. DWI laws were set up in the 80s and 90s...are they not valid anymore? according to you...that's a yes. the speed limit was set a LONG time ago...it's still valid in a court of law. laws don't just fall off the law books...even if it's old.

yes the blue lights are also illegal...if the cops have better things to do than to catch you and the blue light guys then that's fine...but don't think for one second that it's legal to drive around like that.

also...if you had a bad week doesn't mean you can come on the forum and trash it. learn to vent your anger other ways instead of resorting to temper tantrums.

well i unfortunately missed most of the drama the DanNY spoke of but do u really think CT is THE MOST EXPENSIVE state in the union to live? it might be the most presumptious but certainly not the most expensive...i doubt it's even in the top 10. dude,,,check ur facts before u spout things off...oh and a spellchecker wouldn't kill you either

Those are the breaks, break it up, break it up, break it up! Brakes faulty? Take it to a mechanic.

Repair / maintanance before Rice, I mean mods.

How come the heavy blue lights come stock in most expensive cars and they make most of the population car wise here?

You really need to learn about OEM (not the BS plug and play kits) HID technology in a projector beam before you talk about "blue" lights from other cars.

the blue come from the projector cut off pattern. there's a line where there's no light and light...well at that line there's a slight bit of color (blue/purple) shade due to the project lense and the actual HID capsule. that's the slight color you're seeing.

your red lights doesn't equate what you call "blue" lights from an OEM HID car. the light output is actually WHITE...not blue.

of course you may have some retards out there sticking some funky color bulbs in the HID projector to force more color..but i'm referring to OEM applications only.

do your brakes feel spongy?

also stop arguing/debating/saying anything related to the stupid ct law. who gives a fukc. just stop responding to everyones comments. nobody really cares if your going to stick to wat you believe in or not. if you feel that you are absolutely correct, then you have every right in the world to. im not implying that your wrong, but if you continue to debate this topic with people on the forums, esp people who will eventually help you out bigtime in the long run such as danNY, your gonna lose out big and lose the help and information that can be offered by alot of ppl who will side with danNY and other longtime members.

while were on the breaking topic, anyone have a fix to squeeling brakes? my pads are fine and the rotors dont appear warped , but when breaking there is a little squeel , it's not bad at all but it's annoying , wondering if theres anyway to tone it down a bit?

Maybe some better quality pads and some new hardware[i.e. metal backing plates for pads]

Turning the rotors or replacing them will also help....

Squeeling brakes are simply vibrations. Sometimes it's the wear indicator, otherwise it is generally the pads rattling around.

Best way to fix it, buy a wire brush and clean the calipers and pads, then apply grease everywhere where the pad touches the caliper and piston. Do NOT apply it to the face of the pad or the rotor. I'll get a picture of the grease to use tomorrow.

If you are still having problems after that, check the pad wear patterns and consider getting the rotors turned. (at that point you will probably be complaining of wobbly brakes though)
