Almost got nailed today!

It's not what you thinkin there buddy

I was driving down this main road..cruizin at 25-30mph...(speed limit 25)..
this idiot..come into this intersection...not even looking my way..just blows through the stop sign..i slamm..on the brakes..and he nearly clipped me..

All the guy had to say..when i catched up..was i didn't see you.

I must say these brake..aren't enough to slow down this beast..i might have to upgrade to some haw pads..or somethin!

Ya, Hawks are popular around here, the HPs and HPSs. I'm sure a bunch of people will speak up on their behalf shortly.

That guy needs the crap slapped out of him, though, blowing a stop sign like that. Glad nothing bad happened though

Yeah brakes are vital. I'm glad you made it out of that w/o a scratch.

Hawk HPS FTW...

Only problem I have had with them is when I had to stop QUICK on the highway the person behind could not stop as fast as me and almost rearended me... Luckily he was smart enough to go into the middle lane and not hit me.

I hate when people don't have the presence of mind to do something like that, it makes me nervous when someone is close...if they will be able to do that if I come to a sudden stop. I did that when the b*tch cut me off in the rain and I was able to just rub against her car instead of slamming into the back. Prevented probably about $2500 of damage betweent the cars.

Stupid b*tchs is right. You need to realize you are in combat out there. Head on a swivel and watch EVERYBODY. I think once you get over thinking most people are generally smart you start to get paranoid. If they are not behind me they are considered a threat to my car's welfare and my hard work.

Oh yeah personal injury too. That would suck.

When the abs kicks in..there shouldn't be any squealing of the tires..but when i hit the brakes..i heard the squeal..untill i came to a complete stop..Is that normal..my last car that had abs...wouldn't squeak..when i came to a quick stop..

I did the hawk upgrade on my old protege5..and damn..they were great..only problem..was the massive amount of brake dust..

I used HP's..the guy try to sell me on the HPS but i told him..i don't plan on autocrossing..just 1/4mile.

Thats why i dont tailgate people that I KNOW have better brakes than me good thing they didnt hit you! But yeah i dont really think these brakes are that good for quick stops either- well their pretty good, im coming from a grand am (rotors every 20k) with drum brakes in the back, but my fronts have at least 25000 miles on 'em. So these Hawk pads are pretty good? What about ceramics from the parts store around here?

My brakes work fine for quick stops. I had to hit them hard to avoid several Deer in the roadway a few times. All OEM pads at 50K miles.
