What do you guys think about these 2k/2k1 headlights?

Originally I was going to get the 02-03 hids and put them on my 2000 gxe, but I can't see spending $600 when I'm only 16 making $8 an hour. I have a white 2000 maxima gxe with tinted windows and black rear 2000 se taillights and have been really interested in these headlights even though they are't HID's, which BTW I don't mind.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/00-03...QQcmdZViewItem

Here are some questions I have:
1-What else will I need to buy to get these headlights installed?
2-Are these built with decent quality(won't leak or fog?)
3-Will light output be just as good or even better then oem?
4-Will the direction/angle of headlights need to be adjusted to view the road the same distances as oem?
5-Any1 have experience with these or pics with them on a 5th gen. max?
6-What are your opinions

I just want them for looks, not for the increaded performance of hids. Is the beam pattern the same visibly and atleast as bright as the stock 00 headlights with h1 and h3 halogens?

There's no such thing as a beam pattern with these. In order to have a beam, you need to put out light. =(

Stock 2K headlights use H4's and fogs use H3's young'n.

Go OEM HID and mod those with DDE's if you want a clean modded look. Don't use these cheap **** things.

Is there anyone or any site that knows ALL of the parts that I will need to buy for 2k2-2k3 lights to fit on my 00 max gxe? Is there any step by step instructions on how to perform this instillation

sory for all the questions, but I don't have a clue where to start and I am not a donating member to search the forum.

It's all over the forums. Donate some cold hard cash and use the search method.

I'm doing this swap right now as soon as my parts arrive.

do you have ricer blue bulbs in your stock 2000 housing? That could explain poor light output.

Don't do mods mainly for style, do them for functionality first, 2nd comes style.

You can buy HID housings and black them out with DDE's. They'd give off much more light and look better at the same time.

Is there another name for that kinda bulb? like a 31XX or anything like that. I've been lookin at gettin silverstar turn signal bulbs since autobarn has them on sale, but i don't wanna get the fronts without the rears. tia

No. Not on my max at least. Everything i read says that the rear blinkers take 1156 bulbs. However, they do not fit in the socket. The little ***** on the bulbs themselves for 1156 bulbs are on opposite sides of the bulb. For py21w bulbs, the little ***** are closer together than that. Just wondering if there was another name for a py21w bulb... is mine the only max like this?

Here is the 2000 OEM pattern and ebay lights pattern, you tell me.

OEM

EBAY

Buy them, but set aside money for a retrofit. You do a retrofit on these and they will look good and you can actually see the road.

Ebay projectors aren't actually that bad. I've gone through 00 OEMs, 2k2 OEMs, and now ebays. In my opinion, the 00's have better output than both the other two. The flaw about the ebay projectors is that the light is not evenly distributed on the ground. The light projected however(brightness), isn't all as bad as most have said it is. It's certainly not HORRIBLE to the point where you can't see at night or anything. As stated above, buy them, save for a retrofit(which would give you the BEST light output above all) and you should be fine.

edit: all of the above are with HIDs of course.

I wanted to get the ebay projectors, and then retrofit lexus ls400, or bmw/audi projectors into them. Then I remembered that I don't know how and don't have the money, but it can be done and everything about it would be good. In the future, I'll be reading about this retrofit, and if I can find them cheap, I might work up the courage to start messing with the factory HIDs. If you look around, theres a lot of info about these ebay projectors, and you can really make them nice. Also try HID forums too...
