00VI Installation
Take a look at my post (#2) to this thread:
http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=459713
Before you do anything, the first thing you ought to do is the research on the org to fhoroughly familiarize yourself with the whole subject of the 00VI upgrade and the choices/options you have (i.e., which lower IM, TB, etc.). From there, after you've decided "what" you want to do and have acquired all of the parts & pieces, the actual installation is not that difficult if you take seriously my suggestion in the above post. Sure, you'll have to ad lib some things and figure some things out, but it's not beyond the ability of anyone with reasonable intelligence who is careful and takes the time to understand the "why" behind the "what" he is doing.
And a last suggestion, plan on it taking longer than you think and have alternative transportation arranged if you need to get to work or school on Monday morning. And you're sure to need "something" from down at the local Autozone right in the middle with your car disabled. Plan on it. And hold off on the beer until you have something to celebrate!
