Clicking noise when car is beggining to move

Car clicks sometimes when i get it going from a stop, if the motion is no smooth enough, if say a shift from 1-2 or 2-3(rarely) is not perfect and the car dips a little it makes a "click" sometimes. I think its coming from under the car, I checked everything that could be loose in the engine bay, maybe its my exhaust moving around.

Any ideas?

Sorry to be a little off topic as I can't make my own posts (dunno why) I have a 97 Max GXE and I just recently changed the throwout bearing and the clutch. I changed the throwout bearing because when I bought the car I heard this rubbing sound, like a skateboard riding sound that you would only hear if you didnt step on the clutch. Fast forward to now, new throwout bearing and a new clutch and the sound is still there. Do anyone know what else could be the problem.

I had a simular experience in my 97 max, took it to 3 shops before they found the problem, my passenger side axle was bad,,the bearing in the axle was vibrating, making the clicking noise...

Well I have a similar clunk in my right/front suspension area. I replaced the axles and it didn't change but I do have new axles now, and at 145k that's worth something

I also second looking at the engine mount(s).

As for the guy with the unrelated noisy transmission, it sounds like the tranny input shaft bearing is damaged. But it's hard to say really.

I had the same symptom. In my case the problem was in the front suspension/streering...it was the passenger side control arm if I remember correctly. Parts and labour was less than $100.
