surge in acceleration

im wondering what this can be..

when im at around 2k rpm, maybe less, maybe more. and im on constant gas, usually in 2nd or 3rd, i notice the car kind of hesitate than surge forward.

no weird noises, and clutch is let out all the way already. im usually shifting at 2.5k and landing around 1.8k.

im suspecting my spark plugs are shot. any other thoughts?

Well, it could be all sorts of things.
Fuel filter in bad condition.
A failing coil
IACV sticking
Intermittent connector on the MAF
Spark plugs

start by checking spark plugs, then fuel filter, then KS, then everything else others have mentioned before, and your Transmission fluid (it might be time to flush it).
