If you have your original owners manual it has a maintenance schedule in there. There are several options within that.

yea not normal at all.... I never got a light on my car for 30k..... also that would be displayed on your maintenance screen not the SES light.... take it in..... have them check it..... make time..... it could cost more in the long run..... or go to your local parts shop and pick up a reader for the max..... of course you will need to know what each code is..... check on here I am sure you can find the code list..... good luck

....or you can go to the nearest AUTOZONE and have them check the codes for free. If it's serious then you can bring it to your dealer for repair or something. That way you don't have to wait for a long time.

For a guy who does not like imperfections, your pretty flawed in reading your owners manual maintenance schedule!!!

I'd go in as soon as possible to get this looked at. However, in the past when I've had the SES light (or others have while I was at the dealership, which is also a Chrysler dealership), the service advisor always asks if the SES light is blinking. If it isn't blinking they don't seem to worry about it too much, they just say to bring it in when you can. If it is blinking, I think they'll want you to take it in ASAP. So, as long as yours isn't blinking I think you'd probably be OK... go get your code checked at Autozone for free and then make an appointment with your dealership (or any dealership actually - maybe you can get to a closer one sooner?).

Good luck.
