passenger window issues

My passenger window on my 91 gxe will roll down but won't roll up. I noticed the window only going up very slowly a while back. It finally decided to stop going up at all shortly after. I've been trying to figure out what is wrong with it because it is geetting so damn hot out. The wire going from the passenger window switch to the motor, causeing it to go down has about 11-12V of power when either the master or passenger switch is pressed down. The up wire however barely ever has power when either switch is pressed up. If it does, it is only about 9V and not for long.

I have a feeling it is either the master switch or passenger switch that is going bad, I'm just not sure witch one it is.

Any suggestions?

Try greasing up the window tracks first...

I've already tried that, it was the first thing i did and it didnt help. Thats y i tested the electrical and found something with that to be the problem.

try bypassing the switch to see how the window works, even though my guess is on the window regulator

the regulator and motors work fine, cause when it has gotten stuck down i just pull the door apart and switch the up and down wires to roll the window up.

I think it is probably the master switch too, but is it possible that it could be the passenger switch?

I just dont want to go fork out the money for a new master switch and then find that wasnt the problem.

neither switch works to move the window up? examine the master switch pcb and look for fried traces, use some high guage wire to bridge over any burnt areas. they might be hard to see, mine was just a couple small brown dots which took awhile to find.

I have a feeling it might be the passenger one only because it wont go up from either the master or passenger switch. And wouldnt it go up from the passenger switch and not the master one if the master switch was bad?

Please correct me if i'm wrong with that.

Cause from working on other cars that is the way it works on them, but idk if maximas would be different b/c of all the electrical in the touch key entry.

What exactly is the pcb for the master switch? and which wire should i look for that might be burnt? (the green data line?)

I've had lots of luck just resoldering the large white relays on the PCB of the window that doesn't work. It's worth a try...........

I had a drivers' window that stopped going up, so I swapped and resoldered the relays. It is now intermittantly going down instead of up (much better in the rain).

I know this is probably a stupid question, but what is the "PCB"?

It's easy to figure out which one is bad. Swap the rear right window switch with the front passenger one as they are the same. If this worked, the master switch is ok.
