Let me know what you think. I'm getting a S/C and I wonder if I need it. Usually, the hottest my oil has ever gotten is 175 F. Normally, it doesn't run any hotter than 150.

Hey Mike

I just installed mine this weekend. If you want specifics then IM me. I would not install the SC without it. I am bone stock still performance wise and I noticed a difference (no not 10whp) in the behavior of the car with the cooler. I did not expect to feel anything, but most definitely did, the car just seemed to feel alot happier revving out to 5k+. Even my girl noticed that the car just seemed to be alot smoother and stuff. Definite must have if your boosting IMHO.

I had a T-fitting put into where my stock Oil Pressure Sender is, and I connected the Oil Pressure sender and the Oil Temp sender there. I had it done at a shop.

Mike

I used the Stillen setup... a little pricey and the instructions were an absolute disaster...good thing it doesn't take much brain power to figure out.

Matt... no guages yet...soon... Waiting to see what happens to a potential AFC purchase, then I can decide where/what I am going to mount.

hey

im working on one, i dont think the Stillen one is worth the money and i cant get it cause my intercooler is where the oil cooler goes. Im gonna mount mine in the right foglight hole at an angle. Basically you need a sandwich adapter, and get some lines and fittings and you got yourself an oil cooler...

Use syn & and oil cooler

Cooler oil will prolong your bottom end even if the temp drop is only 10-12 deg. Cooler oil = happy engine.

I use Synthetic now. I want to have a custom Front mount Intercooler for my S/C eventually, will that conflict with the Oil cooler?

anywhere you want. It can be mounted horizontally or vertically. The optimal place is in front of the radiator but it can be mounted elsewhere.

Even if it's stuck behind an intercooler, it'll still act as a heat exchanger. It won't be as effective as if it were place in direct cool air but it'll still cool the oil.

Hmmm, really. I need to smack delio. He told me his bolted into that middle pole down infront of your AC condenser. My tranny cooler is partially blocking that. If I can mount it anywhere, thatd be more of a plus

Dave...

The Stillen kit uses the Center M8 bolt from the rod coming down right in the center of the car and goes to the left of the car...towards the driver side. Those people who are saying to mount it anywhere are talking about custom setups or modifying the Stillen kit to their own needs. Want me to fax you the install instructions?

What, you mean i cant smack you anyways?!?!?!?

Is it just the bolt, or?? Cuz if its just the bolt, i can fit it in standard location.

screaminfast, im pretty sure the Stillen cooler would get in the way of any intercoooler. the Stillen one mounts smack in the middle so it would interfere with any type front mount setup i think. thats why im gonna mount mine in the right foglight hole...good luck

Bad Dave

You tell people where the IC is mounted? Bad bad bad...
Anyways Dave, You need that bolt...you actually unscreww it and slide the OC between the rod and the bolt then screw it back in, but you don't need any room to the passengers side of it other than to run the hoses back to the oil filter adapter, so your front grill are to the pass side of the Nissan Emblem on your grill is clear. I think if you use the nissan emblem as your dividing line you will see it better. If you can see the "M8" bolt at the bottom, in the opening of the lower air damn, right below the emblem, then you are straight.

Screamin... The OC will definitely interfer with any intercooler setup unless you go with a custom front mount, or with a setup kinda like I am doing. I won't go into too much detail about my own setup. If you want info I will give you my # and we can talk on the phone.

Turbo...what you need man? I can fax you the install docs, and send you pics soon as I scan them. Ni digicam for me right now, spent a wad on my new "toy" hahahaha.

BTW Got a big box in the mail today, wonder whatever that could be.

Later,
Del
