Just keep it stock if you want "bright" fog lights.

sorry to hijack the thread but i am lookin to get fog lights for my I35. I dont need HIDs I just want a bright bulb that gets rid of the yellow color of the stock bulb. White or blue/white to match the HID headlights would be good. I'm also lookin for blue/white high beam bulbs so my high beams dont look yellow
also affordable would be nice too
also affordable would be nice too

Hey guys,
I think for the best match in halogen H3s, you have to go with a PIAA SuperPlasma bulb. I'm not even sure if they still make the regular SuperPlasma (becuase now I see a lot of SuperPlasma GTX which is more blue IIRC), but if you can find them, they'll probably be around $50 for the pair. Try eBay first.
Also, I had these bulbs for a while and thought the color matched pretty well, the only problem was I got a crack down the center of one fog, and after several months, moisture got in and burnt out the bulb. There's been an ongoing debate on the org over whether the SuperPlasma bulbs are actually the cause of the cracked fog lights because apparently they get very hot, but only one of mine cracked, so I don't think that's the case.
Personally, I'm tired of having foglights that do NOTHING in terms of light output. They look nice to other drivers, but the halogen bulbs just don't put out enough light. So I've been thinking of doing the HID conversion. I've read the Umnitza kit costs around $250. It's steep, but if the fogs actually put out some light, I'll be happy.

fogs are not meant to replace headlights!!! they work well in the dusk, when you do not need the amount of light, or distance your headlights provide. when it gets dark, my foglights light up the road right in front, and to the sides of my car. i think they help a little bit, to light up more of the road.
there is a group deal in the GD forum for hid fogs from Maximabest. i have heard great responses about him from several .org members.

Just two quick questions:
1. I have an 03 max and I wanted to know what's the best thing to do with the fog lights so that they match the headlights. If its bulbs, which ones? If its an hid kit which output should I get and what are some good websites to look at them.
2. Also, how do you make just your fog lights come at dusk? I'm pretty sure mine only come when the headlights are on.
Thanks a lot for the help.
