okay, this just out of CURIOSITY. I was watching some video clips of Maxima racing. It was obviously an auto because he had his O/D off. But why would he turn it off ? Wouldnt getting to 4th gear go to higher speed ? im a n00b so excuse me. once again, this is just out of curiousity so dont crazy on me now. =]

 

To answer your question, i dont know why he would have the o/d off...because it has been stated many of times in these forums and the next that the o/d simply locks you out of 4th gear...HOWEVER when reaching extremely high speeds (say when 3rd gear redlines in an auto) many people find that the ability to take 3rd gear all the way to the top and then putting o/d on helps...hopefully that helps...

and in addition, the o/d was put in mostly for stop/go traffic...if you wondering that.
