Creaking from driver's side front wheel well

just dropped the car about 2.5" with D2 coilovers. When I crank the wheel all the way to the left, it sounds like the front wheel well creaks occasionally. Usually only when the car has been running a while. I'm thinking it would be my CV joint(axle) but if it is, shouldn't it be constant? And if it was the drver's side CV, wouldn't the sound be there if I was cranking the wheel all the way to the right? Some advice please.

Check and see if your boots are cracked and leaking.

Could it be that when you dropped the ride you slightly shortened the distance between the steering knuckle/hub and the transaxle thus making the CV press against the inner seal on the wheel hub? Full lock may just make it bad enough to "creak".

Can you describe the sound a bit more?
