have this same probelm on my 1990 olds toronado, the rear brake caliper bracket is worn. When i take off the tires and tap or kick the caliper itself, it makes a rattle. Now i know the max has a simular brake set up. Mine goes away when i step on the brake because its under pressure and grabbing onto the rotor. So it can't rattle, but when i let go the rattle comes back. You might need a new bracket or a couple of loaded calipers if you can't find the bracket seperate.
