Spray on outside. It'll be as dark as the number of coats you spray on.

I've seen guys spray on not much at all and just "tint" the light, and I've seen other guys spray it multiple times for a full blackout.

Yeah, the red should shine through just fine at night. It's daylight that I'd worry about.

If you're worried, just go progressively darker and test it out each time. It's always easier to spray another coat...rather than try to go back and remove one that's already on..

BTW I30soldier, where did you order yours from? Cause I ordered mine online from CustomEnterprise on June 28th. They sent me an E-mail saying it was out of stock, so I waited...........and waited.........................and waited. Then finally I called them. They said that VHT said they would get a shipment to them sometime in SEPTEMBER!!!
I was like WTF? The guy at Custom Enterprise said that they are out of the stuff Everywhere! I don't know. If you know a place where I can get it sooner, please let me know! Thanks.

A buddy of mine over on the W-body.com forums recently tinted some of his lights using a Krylon spray on product, which apparently is available at any auto part store.

Ebay will give you the same problem as custom enterprise for ordering this tint

I bought a can off ebay, used it on 2 cars, bought another for a friend from the same supplier, and he cannot get it because of back-order. You would have to make sure that the seller really does have some in stock. I bought my 2nd can about 3 months ago and sort of gave up on waiting (of course i havent paid yet, im just waiting untill i'm told they've received it).

I put 3 coats on my lights and its still red in the daytime, just not reflective anymore and a much darker color, brake lights come out fine. at night the lights look completely black (unless they are on obviously)
