4th and 5th gen brakes similar?

I looked around but didnt find anything on this, i'm pretty sure the rear brakes, at least calipers are the same between 4th and 5th gens but are the fronts? I thought i also heard the fronts were the same from 95-01. Reason i'm asking is cause at my work we have 00-01 rotors for 73 a piece and 4th gens for 27.99, not sure what the diff. was

No, both at 280mm
22mm vs. 26mm for thickness.

hmm so then they would fit....

well after thinking about that some more, would braking be noticably decreased? 4 mm thinner rotors cant really be the best thing can it?

What kind of driver are you? Will you be needing to make a lot of hard stops because you are a bit of a speed-demon?

Aside from that, the smaller rotors might compromise your ability to stop in an emergency situation, due to the car's extra weight, etc. Not sure how big of a difference a few mm will make?

You will warp the 4th gen rotors very fast.

he was talking about the difference between the 4th gen and the 5th gen (A33 00-01) front brakes..The A33B brakes are larger in diameter than the previous years, and they're 11.68"

But that wasn't relevant to the topic, as he was talking about swapping the A32 rotors onto his A33....not A33B. I was just making it clear to the other people that A33B brakes are different than A32 brakes, but the A33 brakes are the same in diameter, which is what the original poster was asking.

FRONT:
89-99 = 280x22mm
00-01 = 280x26mm
02-03 = 296x24mm

basically the extra 4 mm is to make room for vents right, the 4th gen arent vented rotors? meaning the slots in the middle? so they wouldnt cool down as fast, therefore causing early warping probly. ****.

Yeah, basically. Well i'm not sure what to do yet, i'll let you guys know how different it is if i use the 4th gens. Probly not though since theres heat-scoring on one of my rotors as it is.

Alright, i went with the 01's instead of 4th gen since i got a wicked deal through work, they gave me the 72.99 ones for 35 a piece through the commercial department on the stores account so 75 bucks out the door for both. Put them on the other day, much smoother braking now, thanks for the help guys
