be careful with tails you buy from ebay!!

I melted one of my tails trying the dtm mod so to make a long story short i found a smoked set on ebay for $120 i won them through buy now. i forget the co. i bought from, if you really want to know i can find out. I was stuck not able to move my car having no tails for about a week When i finally received the new set they looked great except for the fact that a small piece chipped off from the corner of the outer tail lamp, this area is notorious for chipping while doing any tail mod If you are not careful . Must have happened during shipping.. I knew something had to be wrong looking at the box I received via FEDEX it was all banged up. Anyway i wasnt going to return them for such a little thing, I just crazy glued the corner back on. Couldnt even tell it was broken after i was done. So when i finally installed these they fit horrible! the innner tails are not flush at all and also the noches for the bulbs dont line up that well. Also they arent even sealed properly you can see gaps in the tail lamps. But from a distance you cant tell the're not flush and its something I'll have to live with. Just giving you guys the heads up about parts out there and you get what you pay for.

Mine turned out perfect.
I bought them from Prosportcars or something along that line.
They fitted fine on my car. No problems at all, except I broke my Altrezzza**** when I got angry.

I got mine for 130 shipped

company please

Can you guys list the companies you bought the lights from. I am thinking of buying a set of red/clears but still have not because hearing of fitment issues. The ones I am looking at are about $150 but I think two or three companies sell them on there. So just trying to figure out who to buy them from. Help is appreciated.

I got my red/clears from sabersport on ebay. The outers did not line up with the stock inners and the lights would not securely screw into the housings. To fix this I got out my power drill and drilled slightly larger holes where the tails are supposed to bolt in. This allowed for me to move the tails up or down to line up with the stocks. To fix the light bulb notch thing, I took a knife and cut a little on the notches to make them wider so that the pegs on the bulp harness could twist more allowing for a more secure fit. If none of these things work for you, just get creative.

yes the company is Power Import they supplied me the part. Im not sure who manufactored the product but the inner tails are not flush and there is about a 1/4" gap around the top of the tail lamp and its not flush.I tried to tighten the nut that secures the lamp in place and the bolt almost ripped out of the lamp. The screw is which is the threaded part that the nut goes on and is set in the lamp is now a little loose do to me over tightening trying to get a flush fit . So i just left it alone.

thats a really good idea about drilling the holes bigger . this may allow for the lamp to move further in for a flusher fit. I have to try this,as for the sockets i eventually got them to fit in playing around with them for a while. As far as appearance They look awesome just like the CE smoked tails. just the fittment issue I dont know how the CE fits but havent heard anything negative.

you forgot the put the "I" before you typed that statement.

Just because you've had negative experiences w/your car parts from ebay doesn't mean it's a bad place to buy them. I've bought most of my parts there and never once had a bad experience... Go ahead and spend WAY too much $$$ for your sh**!

Bottom line is you get what you pay for. You can definitely find a sweet deal from occasional sellers that are just trying to get rid of something but when it comes to power sellers, I stay away, far far away.

I made a post to show my red/clears. You can see that they match up really well. I don't have any picture of the drilling process however.

im all for spending less on products that will cost more money from repitable co. out there. im simply giving a heads up for people to do there research on parts they on buying from places ie. wheter the product fits well or not. I have no problem with buying from e bay at all. I will just have to modify the tails a little to fit flush thats all. I still saved $150 buying on e bay than from CE smokes.

You can't buy red clears very easily for 95-96 maximas. They are very expensive if you are able to find them. Try making your own or do a 97-99 conversion.stickies for more info.
