UPDATE
The Crossmember damage
So i was leaving campus and thought i had a clear passage through my parking space, WRONG. My left front tire goes over this stop(a lil bigger than the one pictured) and slams the bottom of the car on it as it goes over it. I s l o w e l y pull it out in Reverse and get out smoothly.
I checked under the car and there is this strip of metal that appears the only thing scraped. Is this piece meant for Morons like myself? To protect the engine compartment etc.?
And what possible damage could i have done?
Im not sure if its my sub-concious but i feel like the suspension/tires jerk more quickly on cracks/pot holes.

Also, i found a Huge piece of metal about the size of my palm missing from under my car. Ill post pics later, idont know what it is, but its not recent. The edges are rusted over so it must have been a while ago.

The crossmember is pretty tough. It's where Nissan recommends lifting the front of the car. As long as the connections at the ends fo the member look good, (esp the radiator support that it bolts into in the front), you're golden.
That precat was clearly weld-repaired, probably due to a leak. I see nothing wrong with it.
As for the rust being a problem, well, it's obvious you're in LA and not in a salt-belt state. Parts look like that here after just a couple years.

Ok yea, i looked over all the car-history papers in my Glovebox and one says the Cat was replace.
But i guess the mechanic ripped my Dad off telling him he replaced the Cat when he just fixed it.

I just did this in my mom's 350z Roadster :'( . She wanted to shoot me. I don't think I damaged anything other then the very bottom of the bumper and scratched up the plastic cover panels that help block out water. The rear components of the Z are significantly higher then the front components (ie. The exhaust sits higher then the crossmember, rain guards, etc) so once I cleared the bump it just went over the rest without scratching.

I can't believe that's 11 years worth of rust. I'd almost move to the west coast so I don't have to deal with hella seized parts on my car that just end up breaking when I attempt to take it off.
