So the car has looked like that for the past year and a half. The passenger fender was dented to hell and i had taken the damaged spoiler off and covered the holes with clear duct tape. Over the past year while searching for a pearl parts car, i've tested different combinations of spray paint and ended up finding a good but tricky match. What I used was some plain white Duplicolor as the base, this pearl Krylon spray for the midcoat and finally Duplicolor clear coat.

after a few hours of prep work i went ahead and sprayed it.

As that last pic shows, the pearl coat is the tricky part. Use a little too much or spray uneven and you're screwed. I kind of messed up there on the kick panel part of the fender and went too dark plus it's a little uneven on the side of the bumper as well, so i'll probably redo that part eventually, but i'm out of paint atm. It could also use another clear coat or two. I spent about $20 on paint, sandpaper, and some putty to fill in the chips and scratches in the bumper cover. The only available CH0 aerosol touch up kits cost $60 for less paint than what was required to cover the whole bumper. Eventually i'll just paint the entire car if i keep it (not with rattle cans) It was more of a cheap fix in order to get it looking like less of an eyesore than a permanent solution. I was actually surprised how well it turned out and matched. The density of the sparkles that gives the color its glow are pretty much the exact same as the factory paint. So if anyone's wondering about CH0 touch ups, here's a cheap solution.

What the hell did you hit? Although from that angle it looks like this should be easier to fix than Hectic's whip. Just install a new hood (leave black for that Spoon look :rice: ) and a new bumper cover.

Its not a cell phone pic..its actually from a 5.2 mega pixel camera but I took it without flash so you could see more and I kinda moved so it looks blurry.

Cool, you're only 1 state below, come on by and we'll make it a project. Hope you're 21 so you can buy the beer, I'll pay for it though so no worries

byaaaaaaaahhhhhh!!!!1111e1even OMG you rox

You could bondo the hood so you wouldnt need a buddy...

but you would prolly still need to remove it to work on it since it requires SOOO much time/sanding (unless you have a garage.)

Bond is a PITA but not hard to learn. I have never done a bumper cover, there may be some structural bar/member behind it that may be damaged too.

thanks for the comments.

Columbian: if you want to fly me in and get me a hotel you've got a deal

Chris: the VE is running pretty well now after messing with the knock sensor harness. the dash lights are still flickering and it needs a new door lock timer. resoldering it helps for awhile but then they go haywire again and won't stay down. i'll probably just end up selling the ve. it has a clean title and will be easier to sell, and on the other hand the vg is branded and is worth more to me than what i would get for it.

Trip g: it looks different, but i like it all pearl. the rear part of the right fender needs a taller strip of gunmetal though, the car had been resprayed and whoever painted it, shortened it. l plan to match it up to the door. if i ever paint the whole car, it will be 100% pearl..
