Here's my setup:
Budget SS Y pipe
Budget non resonated test pipe
Stock catback
Dynomax SuperTurbo muffler
3.5" resonated tip, welded on

Until yesterday, i thought my car sounded like a dump truck because of the leaks i had, but the leaks are now fixed and it STILL sounds like a dump truck when its accelerating. Dont mistake this sound for rice, its nothing like it, it sounds like either an old car with a broken exhaust or some dump truck. Is it because of the test pipe? Also, if i get a 4 inch tip, would that make my exhaust deeper? I've looked around and got different results, so i want to clarify.

 

Seems as tho it would be from your test pipe and muffler. Isnt it the bigger the tip the louder it is? You still have the resonated b pipe correct?

 

not sure what to say other than, buy a catback , or buy headers

 

Take your test-pipe off, and put your cat. back on!
Which Dynomax Super Turbo muffler do you have?
Also, you may have a loud muffler!

 

I don't know, i thought they were all pretty much the same thing. I put my cat back on, and it doesnt sound like a dump truck anymore. It still has a slight weird sound to it, but its really quiet now. Sounds fine.
