Are there any good mechanics or maxima enthusiasts in NE Philly?
Hi guys, I live in Northeast Philly, and i was wondering if there are any good mechanics/enthusiasts that really know their way around maxis. My mechanic has been really busy lately, so i'm wondering if there's anybody close to me that can help me do a little "tune-up" on my max (will pay for the trouble
). I need to do the following:
-Change fuel filter (unknown # of miles on it)
-Replace PCV valve (looks like it's trying to get out of the socket
)
-Change spark plugs (unknown # of miles on 'em)
-Clean the IACV (idle falling to ~550rpm in D or R causing vibrations
)
-Look at an oil leak from some sensor above the timing chain cover (just needs a new washer)
-Run seafoam or Auto-RX thru the engine
- " " " " thru the tranny (new fluid, but 3rd-4th shifts are still jerky at times)
-Flush radiator fluid
-Change brake and power steering fluid
-Test knock sensor/maybe replace
Recent work done:
-Changed all brake pads
-Changed both L and R LCA bushings
-Cleaned the TB
-Changed the Air Filter
-Changed the tranny fluid
I absolutely LOVE my max, but i'm too chicken to do these things myself and treat her right. The car has 127,4xx miles on it

Why not do it yourself?! All those things you can do yourself for so much less $$. Your mechaninc will charge you a lot to do that stuff. Only costs you parts and your time. Don't waste your money on the mechanic.
Go ask in your regional section. I know Vasily moved to Phily and he knows a lot about maximas, but he just recently got banned, maybe someone int eh regional section will know how to find him.
i live in Baltimore, but I'm up in collegeville, PA pretty often. I wouldn't mind meeting up with you and helping you out, I can really only help with the first three, so I don't know if it's worth your time. You might want someone who can do all the above in one fell swoop?
